Residential Solar And Wind Power - How To Start From The Beginning
We’ve learned two things in recent years. One, our environment is fragile, and under attack. Two, our energy sources are largely insecure and growing scarce. Millions have switched to solar and wind power for home electricity as a result. In so doing, they preserve the planet while keeping energy safe. Here’s an introduction to these technologies.
The sun is a functionally infinite source of clean power. Everything that lives was given its energy by the sun, why shouldn’t your home get its there? When I came to this realization, I saw solar as the best renewable energy: without burning or hydrocarbons, it is the safest energy for our water, air and atmosphere.
Solar power isn’t just the cleanest; it is the safest and most progressive source of electricity. No failures by or attacks on any corporation or distant power plant can phase you when you generate your own solar power. Every other house on your block may be dark; yours will still be enlightened, come what may.
I was under the impression that solar cost an arm and a leg, but the newest generation of solar and wind power for home use is quite affordable. They also lowered my taxes and raised my home value: solar has been a smart investment. Even better, I used do-it-yourself solar panel kits to save a bunch of money on the front end.
Wind energy is a great supplement to solar panels: when the sun isn’t shining (and solar power doesn’t work) at nighttime or during storms is the very time when wind power produces the most. By pairing one of the oldest power sources-wind-with one of the newest-solar-you can have a green and secure household.
Wind power is great even alone. Its installation is simpler, and entry costs are lower than solar power. It is just as green, just as renewable and easily as safe as solar power, empowering you to do right by your kids and your planet. Both or either, solar and wind power for home electricity work wonders.
Two other things should be noted. The mining and production ends of solar panels have come under some environmentalist scrutiny, and I have had some people warn me about my windmill’s potential danger for birds flying nearby. Still, I know that my power is still much cleaner and safer than it was before I made the switch.
Solar and wind power for your home empowers you to preserve a better world for your children. Solar panels are increasingly affordable, and now available for you to install for yourself. Wind power compliments solar well, or can stand alone. Either way, the hope for the future lies with these and other green technologies.
