People launch a website with aspirations of earning some residual income online. There are so many people that want to earn money from home; however, your chances are slim to none unless you know what you’re doing. There are many reasons why you will fail as an internet marketer. Here are just a few.

You do not have enough patience. People are about instant gratification. If they do not see fast results, they tend to give up. Just like weight-loss, there is no magic-bullet to earning money online. Simply put, you have to put in the time and effort, just like a regular business to succeed as an Internet Marketer. Many people can only see the short term outcome and do not see benefit of sticking it out for the long-term benefit. Making money in this profession takes a lot of patience and is something that most people just do not have.

Most people who do not make money online learn the basics from the wrong crowd. Yes, there is a right way and a wrong way to drive traffic to your website. Many people use social networking sites to drive traffic to their site, however, they do not realize that social networking traffic rarely clicks on ads or buy products from your website. These people want to be entertained and want to make friends, not buy stuff online.

Many people who know how to drive traffic to their websites and know proper search engine optimization (SEO) often do not earn money from home because they choose the wrong keyword. Choosing a profitable keyword is crucial when starting a earn money campaign. Take a few hours to do proper research on a keyword. Remember, not all high paying keywords convert well. Look at the broader picture when selecting a niche. I would rather have a lower paying keyword that had a high click through rate than a high paying keyword with a low click through rate.

You do not know search engine optimization. Proper SEO knowledge will let you work smarter, not harder. On-page SEO and Off-page SEO should be learned BEFORE you start your campaign to earn money.
