The query put to online business people is Which is Better For Traffic, a Static Website Or a Blog? All online marketers want traffic. If you had a storefront business you would want people coming in and out seeing what you were selling. The same with your online business. A blog is a blog and a website is a website, two different animals.

Web log is the term that now people simply call a blog. Newsletters via snail mail were the precursors to today’s blogs. You might have received or even sent out yourself holiday newsletters to friends and family updating them on your life and events. Now people have blogs to keep friends and relatives up to date, and anyone who wants to read the blog.

People now write about what is going on in their lives and people can visit their blog online and read about are going on in their lives. But also people can promote their websites with their blogs. Let us say you have an online business promoting and selling fish aquariums and accessories.

Create a blog, which is very simple, there are many free blog creating softwares on the internet, with articles on fish aquariums and accessories. You then send out emails to your subscribers to let them know you have a new article on your blog. Then in your article have a link to your website where you actually sell products related to tropical fish.

Now the smart internet marketer does not wonder which is better a blog or website. The smart online marketer gives people a choice. Some like blogs because they feel comfortable reading about a particular person and his or her thoughts on a subject. Some like websites because they are more used to websites. So you want to have both and use them together to your advantage.

Some of course like websites over blogs. Websites have more of an internet history. People are more used to seeing a website than a blog. Some see a blog as a personal journal and do not equate that with buying products. But use them together and you will sell products.

I rather go to a website than a blog. I think a website is more what I am used to finding on the internet. I rather read what I can buy and information on various products. When I see a blog I think I am reading what the blogger wants me to read.

Others however want to go to a website to see what is for sale. If the website looks good and they find good products for good prices they might buy from there as well. Which is Better For Traffic, a Static Website Or a Blog? The best is to use both way to build traffic to your online business. Use your blog to support your website where you will be doing your selling.
