Success In Network Marketing will not happen unless the element of FEAR is absent. It doesn’t seem possible when a new recruit first comes into the business, you may have experienced this first hand. They start with a “Do or Die” attitude, all geared up to conquer the MLM world.
With all their enthusiasm and every bit of wisdom they think they have under their belt they start dumping all of it all over every person they can possibly think of. Does it work? Of course it doesn’t work. They get shut down and avoided like they never have before. Then it happens…Fear disguised as Procrastination.
Getting ready to talk to people, instead of talking to people, now becomes the activity. When appointments “No Show” or start canceling, fewer and fewer appointments are made. After awhile the phone becomes the enemy. Now they are avoiding it like other people are avoiding them…if they entered the arena with some “phone phobia baggage” that intensifies the Fear one hundred fold. They now feel they can never achieve Success in Network Marketing.
Whatever your past telephone experience was may affect how much phone fear you will need to overcome. Success In Network Marketing is one of the few things left in a down economy
where most other industries are failing. To reach it, Fear Has To Be Overcome! You’ve got to Defeat your Fear if you really want to Master this MLM Industry.
Every day have the structure of “no matter what” recruiting time (on phone or in person). Make appointments to show your full marketing concept in the simplest way, then show it, close them on it, and / or follow-up. Be okay with the fact most people say no, that’s just how it is…actually that usually means “not now” or they might know someone who would be interested. Build rapport by following-up with them so you will be there when their situation changes.
Remember each “no” gets you closer to a “yes”, so if you can keep the “no’s” impersonal and it makes it so much easier. Keep track of your numbers everyday. Make a game of it. Partner up with someone else in the industry. They don’t have to be on your team or even the same business. Each of you keep a tally chart on your goals, schedule…numbers called, follow-up, and closings. Report to each other with a pre-scheduled daily or weekly contact. It really locks in your performance to share your mistakes as well as your success with someone else with regular reports.
