The “abortion” case is the most litigious of all the hitherto broadcasted 20 seasons of the series “law and order” that is being in the run for a long time. Well, ever since the broadcast of “Life choice” in the first season and “progeny” in the fifth season, there has been no single episode that has had the same impact as “dignity” episode. The program’s producers sponsored a live reading of the script last summer to promote the show’s nomination for an Emmy for best comedy series, and they said it would be included on a DVD of the season’s episodes.

The senior president of the broadcast division of MPG had informed the advertisers that an episode with such a delicate subject cannot be a given for advertisements though there were several rumors that they might not broadcast advertisements for such a subject as abortion. She also stated that though they had certain advertisers from the “Law & order” unit no one else had any slots for advertising and no schedule was put up. However later on under an inquiry by the NBC it was revealed that advertising slots were indeed sold for advertisers though their names were not disclosed.

You would have been waiting to see a lot of fast paced action sequences and emotional drama in the much awaited season 6 of the “lost” series. However it can be said that the show might not live up to your expectations. The usually celebrated show has taken a quite wobbly start.

The episode 3 on Tuesday night ,”What Kate Does”, spent most of its time consuming the audience with the emotional scenes of Kate and Sawyer in remembrance of a cruel past and agonies of leadership with regards to their leader Jack. Hint of drama at the end of the episode but clearly not enough to draw attention of the viewers given the subdued tone of the episode.

It starts off with Sayid’s resurrection and Hurley who gets overjoyed because of it which leaves jack a little confused. Though, sawyer is much aware of Sayid’s resurrection, as he had expected it to happen. Then he presumes that it is better for him to leave for the jungle. At the same time Kate follows him with two escorts Aldo and Justin.

Inside the temple, Dogen sets up Sayid wired up to a hand cranked battery and burning him with hot metal. Kind of what Sayid used to do to prisoners in Iraq. Later Lenon tells Sayid that it is a test he needs to pass to prove to others that he is not possessed by dark powers.

In the forest, Aldo tries holding his temper as he convinces Kate that the survivors were not being treated cruelly rather they were being safeguarded from the men-in-black or the black smoke as they were called. Aldo still remembers how Kate had thumped him down in a move to flee the Other’s prison about three years back. As Jin comes along hunting for Sun, she finally breaks away from him knocking down Justin with one of the Rosseau’s booby trap.

At the temple Jack demands a few answers from Dogen. There is a very lively sense of humor that is shared between most of the characters here. When Lenin grins at Jack, Jack asks “Did I say something funny”. Lenin answers “I doubt it .You don’t really have a sense of humor”. It’s kind of funny, something that is common between most of the characters of show- Kate, Jack, Sawyer most of the time.

Dogen tries to persuade Jack to give Sayid a green colored pill which he admits can only be given by him as Sayid trusts him a lot. Jack seems quite confused. Fed up he tries to take the pill himself when Dogen interrupts him. Dogen finally confesses that he was trying to kill Sayid because he is captivated by the dark powers. Jack backfires asking him how he can be sure of that. Only just then there is this biggest reveal of the show. His half sister Claire was also possessed by the darker powers.

The show is full of emotions and drama involving Kate and sawyer. Especially in the scenes where Kate finds sawyer weeping over Juliet’s death and gets him down to an Others compounds. Neither Kate is able to hold her emotions. Kate feeling sorry is being shown in the flashback too. The only scene where the show brings about a surprise is when Claire comes back, that too with an exact timing when Aldo was just about to kill Jin. So what does her return signify? Her death takes a strange turn in the story when Ziva David a former Mossad agent came to work at Kate’s place who eventually turns to be the half-sister of Ari Haswari. Ziva kills Haswari and the season 3 of the series starts.

This action packed show gets interesting day by day as the storyline is very strong more than the technicalities used to detect crime. The characters play their respective parts so well that the audience never feels that they are watching acting of some people. The whole unit becomes original crime fighters. The issues that are dealt with in the show are crime but the atmosphere is not always heavy. Agents are quite casual in their attitude yet extreme serious at their work. You can find humor every now and then in the episodes.

Agent Gibbs is more like a father to the other team members than a leader. His expressions and not words talk for him. Abby Sciuto is a fun loving girl and detective Tony Dinozzo tries his best to befriend with Ziva David. Sometimes Ziva’s attitude is responsive and sometimes she remains aloof.

Smart approach, sleek photography, good editing and above all a healthy story line with mystery and thrill make NCIS a favorite among viewers. Getting close towards the climax and the who has done it thing in the series is the real enjoyable part to watch.

In the year 2002 on July 12 a series started on the USA Network called Monk. This series revolves round police proceedings with a comic touch in it. The central character’s name is Adrian Monk, portrayed by Tony Shalhoub, who works as a detective in San Francisco Police Department.

The story shows that Adrian had a unique memory and crime detection ability by assimilating little clues. But unfortunately his beloved wife Trudy got murdered by a car bomb inside a parking garage and the murderer was not found. This incident was a major shock to Adrian and he fall victim to serious obsessive-compulsive disorder and different phobias.

Monk’s mental condition compels him to behave irrationally in an eccentric way sometimes. So the chief of the police department Leland Stottlemeyer is not willing to reassign Monk to his duties. At the same time he is pretty much convinced about the abilities of Monk and sometimes seeks his help for the police department. Another person who feels compassionately about the talented detective is the second command in chief of San Francisco Police Department, Lieutenant Randy Disher. Early on Disher was not comfortable with Monk and used to state him as a defective detective. Gradually Adrian’s condition and capability compelled him to change his outlook.

Compulsive-obsessive disorder is such a disease which changes the behavior and attitude of a normal person. It is not exception in Adrian’s case. His irritations become so much intense sometimes that he becomes intolerable. Cinematic liberty allows Adrian to move freely as this type of patients are hospitalized and are given high sedatives. His way of talking and giving extra time on sharpening pencil shows his abnormality.

The series has successfully completed eight seasons with some specific changes. The starting theme music has been replaced by the song written and performed by Randy Newman. Some characters are replaced equally. Like the nurse who was the caretaker of Adrian. Bitty Schram played this part but was removed by Traylor Howard, new assistant of Adrian, named Natalie Teeger. Dr. Charles Kroger’s role was given to Stanley Kamel who suddenly succumbed to heart attack. The production house showed in the series that Dr. Kroger has passed away by cardiac failure and introduced Dr. Neven Bell as the new therapist of the detective played by Hector Elizondo.

The changes of characters did not affect the storyline and audience still feel excited whenever Monk appears on the screen.

Fun lovers will be delighted with the new series of 20th Century Fox jointly produced with Fuzzy Doors Productions. It is an animation series more of a satire than comedy called “The Cleveland Show”. The father of this animation series is Mr. Seth MacFarlane whose other popular animation creations are - Family Guy and American Dad. The difference in this show is the characters, who are African Americans. The male protagonist here is a middle aged black man called Cleveland Brown. He is a divorced man with a 14 year old son, Cleveland Jr. The story starts with the intention of Cleveland to move to California with his only son. On his way to California. Coincidently Cleveland meets Donna on whom he had a crush on high school. They met on the state of Virginia at a fictional town called Stoolbend. Donna is a single mother of two children. A daughter in her teens called Roberta and a 5 year old son called Rallo. The real story starts with the marriage of Cleveland and Donna.

The creator of the lead character Mr. MacFarlane tries to show the well known mental setup of a middle aged male who lives in the suburb of America. Cleveland is bewildered with the generation gap and can’t understand the new generation. He is sluggish and not much expert in raising up his son.

Racial issues are not the focusing point of the show. The black Americans are also not always shown as the ultimate responsible citizens, but the show deals with common nature of general people having the white as well as the dark side in their characters. Any touchy or controversial issue is handled with a straightforward manner in the show where diplomacy has no place. That is the style of Mr. MacFarlane. The messages of morality are delivered in wrong ways deliberately to increase the fun aspect of the animation.

The animated characters of the show have unique characteristic features. Like Cleveland’s neighbor Lester who is a gun lover and whenever Cleveland knocks his door, his very first response is that he is already aware of the fact that a black man has been elected as America’s president. The teenager girl Roberta always says - “That ain’t The View”, whenever she is asked about how was the day. The most mention worthy is the kid Rello who seems to become delivering double standard dialogues every now and then. There is also a unique character of a talking bear voiced by Jason Sudeikis.

From the starting of the series whenever you watch it you can feel that jokes are getting created every now and then. If you miss one then the next one is ready to fly towards you.

The persons who gave their voices to the different characters are Mike Henry who is a white man dubbed for black character Cleveland Brown. Kevin Michael Richardson dubbed for Lester and Cleveland Jr. Sanna Lathan for Donna, Reagan Gomez-Preston for Roberta, Seth MacFarlane for Tim, Mike Henry again for Rello the kid. Linda Lamontagne is in the responsibility for casting in the show. Walter Murphy is in music direction and the editing part of this comedy animation is handled by Kirk Benson.

A man suddenly springs up from sleep and finds himself in the center of a jungle. He finds his bare body being enclosed by a creamy thing and wonders where actually he is. No one knows as to whom he is - an alien or an outcome of a scientific test.

Caring least about the stares he is getting, he walks calmly and reaches the city ultimately. He is being taken under custody by a police man he meets called Lou ragger. He is finally being bought back home by Nicole who takes him to be a special child.

It’s interesting and fascinating to note that how this abnormal human creature gels up with the family and in short time becomes on among them though he has a special feature of exceptional intelligence. He first starts by understanding each of the family members and their ways. The kids of the family Lori and Josh have a misconception that he is a retard but later on with the intelligence and his involvement in the family’s affairs get close to him and thus develop a strong connection with the family that they consider him as an equal.

He starts to live with trager and family and learns the unique habits of all the family members. Though in the beginning he was interpreted to be a mentally disabled person by the children, Lori and josh, his consistent association with the family in all the issues and his exceptional brain power ends up in establishing a profound relationship between him and the family in which he becomes a very important person.

The end of first season whines it up showing an unknown human like person who becomes of great importance to the Trager family and their acceptance for him. As Kyle becomes their beloved family member who is always at their side at all times and the family is also with him at difficult times. The second season kicks off in a different way showing with lots of different plot in the family drama making it a lot more exciting than the previous season.

This is an electrified series with lots of fun, adventure with power packed actions and scenes. There are lot of emotions and drama also involved. It is all about an alien who comes into our society with lots of confusions and ignorance. The first season shows how Kyle adapts to the human society and gets along with the family.

Whereas in the second season a similar female clone appears and goes in search of her male companion who is none other than our Kyle. Hence with this it brings a lot of enthusiasm and drama to the series which makes it much more increasing. So what do you think will they meet or not?

Finally he is satisfied when Claire maturely makes her father understand that wherever she goes and whoever she marries she will remain her father’s little daughter forever. Little Kady has the funniest problem of all. This girl thinks that all the attention of the family members have gone to the baby boy of Jr. and Vanessa. The whole family convinces her that she will always be their dear one.
