Kenny Chesney has left little doubt after almost two decades that he’s here to stay as a country music superstar. Even though his debut album from Capricorn Records, “In My Wildest Dreams” was released to little fanfare, Kenny had some success from the albums and has gone on to release twelve more albums to wild success.

The success of Kenny’s music is remarkable. Of the first thirteen albums he released, eleven were certified gold or higher by the RIAA. His debut may not have sold record numbers on Capricorn Records, but the independent label’s release spurred two singles, “The Tin Man” and “Whatever It Takes” that garnered enough success to prove that Kenny had star potential. Capricorn Records decided to discontinue publishing country music later that year, but Kenny was destined for bigger things.

Kenny Chesney’s amazing career includes four consecutive AMC Entertainer of the year awards, sic CMA awards and more than thirty top ten country music hits.

Seventeen of Kenny’s songs have hit number one, and his 2007 summer tour was the highest grossing country music tour of the year. One hit record is amazing; two is incredible. Seventeen is downright unbelievable.

Kenny Chesney’s hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee is just next to the Smoky Mountains and deep in the heart of the country music, just down the road from Nashville.

During his college years at East Tennessee State, he played bluegrass and recorded a record to sell at his gigs in 1989.

After venturing to Nashville when he graduated from college, he worked to get in front of music producers and publishers. In 1992, he achieved his first real success with a deal with Opryland Music Group and BMI. Despite his youth, Kenny’s experience playing for live audiences no doubt showed his potential.

Kenny graduated from ETSU with a degree in marketing and had a few years of playing in front of audiences, so he was already developing into the star country music fans have come to know.

This year’s tour includes a stop on September 12 in Charleston, South Carolina at the the North Charleston Coliseum. Kenny’s tour’s include big dates across the United States and Canada, but the South Carolina show is expected to be one of the best, with country music fans coming not far from Kenny’s home. This year’s tour is named the Sun City Carnival Tour.

Despite the slow start to his career, he’s made up for it with incredible success during the first two decades of releasing hit country music. He is truly one of country’s modern music superstars, with two greatest hits albums already available.
